LRBC Doubles
Ladder Tournament
Welcome to the LRBC Ladder
Tournament! If you have never played in a Badminton ladder before it's a great
way for new players to get started and experienced players to touch up on that
competitive streak! Here are the basics...........no matter where you start in
the ladder, after a period of time you will end up playing games with people of
similar ability. If you improve, you are likely to go up the ladder but you
will then be playing against harder opponents.
This will be a mixed up doubles
tournament. Teams can consist of men's doubles, womens' doubles or mixed
doubles pairs. You can only play on one doubles team. We will register teams up
until the end of January 2011 and then we will have a random drawing for placement
of the teams on the ladder. Please sign up your team on the sheet provided at the club or email your team members names to the club email
address (lochraven@marylandbadminton.net). If you don't have a partner sign up anyway as we will match up requests for partners. Competitions will commence in February and end May 15, 2011.
Badminton Ladder
Rules
1. You may challenge a doubles team one or two positions
above you on the ladder. New teams added after the draw date will be added to
the bottom of the ladder.
2. You should play your game at a mutually convenient time. All games should be
played within 7 days of a challenge being made otherwise the challenger wins.
3. If you don't play a match within 14 days then you will drop 5 places!
4. If you make a successful challenge you swap your names with the team you
beat. Therefore you may jump (or drop) up to two positions at a time. Inform
Richard or email the results of a successful challenge to the club email so we
can update the standings.
5. Matches will be played as 2-game sets. The challenger must win both games in
order to move up the ladder.
6. If the challenged team wishes to forfeit the challenge they can do this
within the challenge period (7 days), and the challenger wins the match.
7. There will be prizes for the teams finishing in 1st,
6th, 11th and 16th place.
